BMW launches ActiveHybrid 7 Lunched

German luxury car maker BMW today launched all new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 sedan in India priced at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

The vehicle, which comes as a completely built unit, would be available for sale across the country from today onwards.

"The all new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 introduces a fundamentally new driving experience in the luxury segment that India has never seen before," BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr
told reporters here.
 It is the perfect choice to savour the agility and performance of a BMW 7 Series in a hybrid vehicle, without having to compromise in any way on comfort and spaciousness,he added.
The electric motor and petrol engine of the vehicle work in unison supported by a lithium-ion battery and  coordinated hybrid system, the company said.
 The car comes with various luxury features, including folding tables integrated in the back rest of of the front seats and massage function in rear seat.
Commenting on the future launches, Sahr said the company would launch the M3 sedan, M4 Coupe and the M5 sedan in 2014.
 "Taking a further step in sustainable mobility, BMW India will also introduce i8 in 2014," he added.
  The company also plans to expand dealer network in the
country by 2015 end.
  "BMW India will aggressively expand it'd dealer network by increasing the number of outlets to 50 across major metros and emerging markets," Sahr said.

BMW cars to cost more


German luxury car maker BMW today said it will increase prices of its vehicles in India by up to 10 percent from January 2014 as part of its sustainable and profitable growth strategy. The price increase from 7 to 10 percent will be across the BMW and MINI product range effective January 1, 2014, the company said in a statement. "At BMW Group, we believe that both profitability and growth are essential for a win-win situation at the end. We are making price decisions with all due care and consideration ensuring that they pay off in the long run," BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr said. In August this year, the company had increased the prices of its vehicles by up to 5 per cent citing higher import costs due to declining rupee. At present, BMW sells a range of vehicles in India, including compact luxury car 1 series, sedans 3, 5, 6 and 7 Series, along with SUVs X1, X3, X5 and sports car M Series, which are priced between Rs 20.9 lakh and Rs 1.78 crore. BMW Group's luxury compact car, the Mini series is currently available between Rs 23.7 lakh and Rs 33.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
